Quote Analysis Section 5/6

Quote 1
"In three days I shall no longer be here.... Say the Kaddish for me"(Wiesel 83).

Analysis
I think Akiba Drumer said because he wanted Elie to know about the execution that was happening. He wanted him to do the speech for him and his friends to feel special since he asked them. They gathered at the service and said the Kaddish together before Drumer went to the chambers.

Quote 2
"Don't let yourself be overcome by sleep, Eliezer. It's dangerous to fall asleep in the snow. You might sleep for good. Come on, come one. Get up"(Wiesel 94).

Analysis
Eliezer's father said this because he didn't want to see his son to die because he was the only one with him. He wouldn't want to see his son die in the snow. He's the only family member he had with him. It's sad to think that they had to walk in the snow and not one person noticed it.

Section 3 Quote/Analysis

Quote 1
"Poor devils you're going to the cematory." (Weisel 41)
Analysis
I believe that they are trying to make a joke out of saying the Jews are going to get burned to death. They called the Jews devils because they didn't believe in the same thing Germans believed in. It's not fair to the Jews that they had to be treated that way.

Quote 2
"...Tomorrow's another day" (Weisel 52)
Analysis
Elie's father said this to make him think they're going to make it until tomorrow, and that they aren't going anywhere. To them tomorrow is another day of work, but to the German's tomorrow is just another day to watch the Jews work and not feed them regularly.

Analysis For Night

Quote :1
"Jews, listen to me. It's all I ask of you. I don't want money or pity. Only listen to me (Wiesel 17)"
Analysis
Moche the Beadles reveals that he just wants every Jew to hear him out not give him money or sympathy.

Quote: 2
"What would you like then? Shall I break your teeth with my fist? (Weisel 63)"
Analysis
When Elie Weisel wrote this quote I thought of someone punching someone else in the face and starting a fight.

Quote: 3
"Why don't they shoot us all right away? (Weisel 108)"
Analysis
When I first read it I thought it was upsetting since he wants them to shoot him and everyone else at the concentration camp.

Snapshot of.. Fort Walton Beach! :)

My snapshot is of Fort Walton Beach in Florida. You can see how white the sand is. When you first walk out of your back doors, then you can smell the salty water washing up from the waves. The seabreeze feels like a million tiny fairys kissing your cheeks. You can hear the sounds of kids laughing, yelling, and having an amazing time. Sometimes you even taste the water by just breathing it in. As you're walking on the sand you feel it crumble between your toes. When you walk along side the tide, you feel it take you away with it.

The water is as clear as a piece of glass. If you stand there and look down, then you see your feet. It's amazing how when you first think of this beach you compare it to Myrtle Beach, but Fort Walton Beach is nothing like it. The water isn't as dirty as Myrtle's. The sunsets at night seem magical. If you're lucky and wake up in the morning, then you can see dolphins swimming and jumping along the horizon. In my opinion this beach is the best, but I have only been there and Myrtle, so I don't really have a variety of options. When I first saw this beach, then I knew it was going to be a great vacation like it turned out to be.

<- this is the sunset which was taken when we were walking along side the waves

An Outsider's View

In Chapter 4 of the book "Mice of Men", we learned about how Crooks is treated. Crooks is the only African-American, who has a crooked back. Everyone treats Crooks diffrently, so he basically stays in his room all the time. There were times in my life where I was treated, or that I felt like an outsider. Last year I got all this hate from some of my "friends" and it made me feel like nobody would be friends because of what they were saying about me.

They called me hurtful, yet bad names. There were three people who were doing that. I felt happy sometimes because I had my actual friends stay with me through this. One of them is in this class, too. Last year was the year where I was an outsider. My friends talked about bands that I never even heard of, and I acted like I knew what they were saying. I hated feeling like an outsider because it made you feel different.

In some of this year, even though it's already a month or two in the school year I felt like one. I made new friends, and they talk about things I don't even know. Right now I feel like one basically because I lost one of the friends who had my back last year. When I say lost I mean we aren't really speaking to each other. It's going to feel awkward when I sit down at our table at lunch because one of our friends will be talking to her or me, and we will both just sit there quietly not knowing what to do. As you can tell Crooks and I are kind of similar in ways since we are both outsiders.

The Perfect World

In my perfect world people can do whatever they want. They can get their license at the age of 15 and graduate school when they want. Even if they are in pre-school. They can have ice cream every Tuesday and Friday. On Mondays they will have "Amusement Monday", which is when they go to an amusement park for the whole day. The school dress code wouldn't matter, and if they have cell phones then they can use them in class. The teachers won't be 65 or older.

The schools won't be like any other ordinary school. They will have slides to take them to their classes and their buses. There will be no fighting, and there will be no violence. People who are fighting for our country will be able to come home to their families. They choose if they want to go back or if they want to stay at home. I'm thinking they'd want to stay with their families and watch their kids grow up.

I'd hope everyone will be friends. I don't want any bullying because it's cruel. Everyone's house would have a beach in the backyard, so that way they can enjoy summer all year. There will only be one season, and that would be summer. If someone wanted to go to a concert for someone famous then they would have to pay a minimum of $50 per ticket. I want everyone to be able to see who they like. Everyone will have smiles on their faces because my perfect world will be nothing but fun.
